(Or is it "Indian summer"? I've seen it written both ways. It usually seems like Bob sings, "it bein' summer," but sometimes I seem to hear it as "Indian summer ...")

If he/she knew what they were talking bout, it was summer (time of roundups in TX. Spring to the East, Summer to the West (depends on rainfall for feeding em).

although I thought she varied several lines from the original, that one was always It being summer..... to my eyes and ears.
